FileWave Looks Back at 2018

2018 was a wonderful year for FileWave. Here are some of our favorite highlights.

2018 has been a year full of innovation and excitement for the FileWave family. We’ve seen great developments within the multi-platform endpoint management industry, and have enjoyed growing together with our team members and our valued customers. It would be impossible to capture all of our highlights in one blog post, but we’ve captured some highlights from a year full of them.

The 2018 FileWave Alliance Conference

Our annual gathering of customers, staff, and partners is a consistent highlight for the FileWave family – and this year was no different. Featuring a number of guest speakers exploring topics on the forefront of the endpoint management industry and several big announcements, this event felt more like a reunion than a professional conference. The time spent catching up with members of our Alliance Community and working together to grow as professionals is something we truly value.

FileWave 13

The newest version of our software, FileWave 13, is a major step toward our full web-based console. Developed based on our users’ feedback, this release laid important groundwork for additional functionality coming in future releases and an enhanced experience. Our users can now use either the desktop FileWave client or our web UI for reporting functions while enjoying security enhancements, the latest OS support and more. We’re excited to continue building on this release that will continue to enhance our customers’ user experience.

The Future of Imaging

It seems it wasn’t that long ago that Apple’s release of MacOS High Sierra completely rewrote the rules on traditional imaging. By shifting the paradigm away from traditional monolithic imaging to zero-touch deployment via DEP, IT teams had to quickly adapt to this new approach. Our seamless integration with Apple’s program, alongside our traditional imaging tools, made the transition easier for our customers. We were at the forefront of that shift and we will be for future changes too.

Innovative Use of Endpoint Management Software

One of our favorite stories of 2018 was Jeff Botteron and Lafayette Catholic School System’s use of FileWave to create a student-led tech team at the high school level. By utilizing FileWave’s role-based permissions, he was able to streamline support experience, free up admin time and funding, and create great learning and development opportunities for his students. FileWave was excited to host Jeff and three members of his team at the 2018 FileWave Alliance Conference to learn more about how they developed and implemented this program and how other schools could do the same.

2018 was a fantastic year for the FileWave Alliance community. Here’s to a 2019 full of innovation, growth, and shared success.
