Responsible disclosure policy

Data security is a top priority for FileWave, and FileWave believes that working with skilled security researchers can identify weaknesses in any technology.

If you believe you’ve found a security vulnerability in FileWave’s service or a product, please notify us; we will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

Disclosure Policy

  • If you believe you’ve discovered a potential vulnerability, please let us know by emailing us at security@filewave.com.
    • Please provide the following information in your disclosure report:
      • URL, IP address or location of the service or a product that is affected by the vulnerability
      • Steps to reproduce
      • Your contact information and whether or not you want to be identified in vulnerability resolution report
      • You can use our public PGP key to send us an encrypted message
  • Do not disclose the vulnerability  to the public or a third party before it is confirmed and resolved by our Security Team.
  • Make a good faith effort to avoid violating privacy, destroying data, or interrupting or degrading the FileWave service. Please only interact with accounts you own or for which you have explicit permission from the account holder.
  • Please note that FileWave, as a general rule, does not offer monetary reward for a reported vulnerability (bug bounty). However, for a valid report – based on review and verification conducted internally in due course, we are happy to provide written acknowledgment of your contribution.

Exclusions

While researching, we’d like you to refrain from:

  • Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS)
  • Spamming
  • Social engineering or phishing of FileWave employees or contractors
  • Any attacks against FileWave’s physical property or data centers
