Apple unveiled exciting new hardware updates at its September 2019 event.
The Fall Apple Event announced a whole series of new devices, including the powerful iPhone 11 smartphones and the seventh-generation iPad, which brings new features alongside the updates available in iPadOS. With the new devices rolling out major improvements in camera and battery, we’re likely to see many people upgrading their devices this month.
iPhone 11 and Pro Series Smartphones
Apple announced a new lineup of smartphones at its event yesterday, including the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Two years after the launch of the iPhone X, the new iPhone 11 debuts a dual camera and a stronger battery, powered by the A13 Bionic chip to support longer performance and “the fastest CPU” to debut in a smartphone.
“A13 Bionic and iOS 13 make up the best machine learning platform in a smartphone.”
The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max bring a new pro series of phones to the market, featuring brighter displays, a triple-camera system, and a Haptic Touch in iOS 13 that streamlines task management, including previewing an email with a simple press. The Pro and Pro Max have huge battery life improvements, even over the new iPhone 11.
iOS 13 and 13.1
Alongside the new hardware updates, we’re seeing an update for iOS to version 13. iOS 13 will introduce a new look and big changes to Maps, Camera, and Photo features, building on the hardware upgrades we’ve seen in the new iPhone devices. From a performance standpoint, FaceID will be 30% faster, with improvements for varying distances and angles, and a new Dark Mode. iOS 13 will also offer a more private sign-in for apps and websites with Sign In with Apple – a feature we’ve been thrilled to see Apple rolling out.
iOS 13 will be available starting on September 19 for iPhone 6s and later.
7th Gen iPad
Apple has taken its most popular and affordable iPad and added more screen area and support as part of its seventh-generation rollout. The new iPad will now support Apple Pencil, a full-size Smart Keyboard, and performance enhancements that are supported by the new iPadOS. It’s clear from the new iPad and iPadOS that Apple is on a mission to create more versatile and powerful experience for iPad users, which is likely going to be attractive for enterprise users as well as education customers.
The Apple Event gave consumer and enterprise customers plenty to be excited about. Aside from the above devices, Apple announced The Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Arcade, and the upcoming launch of Apple TV+.
As with any new iPhone update, we’re sure to see many new devices entering the workplace, with employees keen to make use of the new features to support their productivity. If you’ve ever wondered “How much do I need to prepare for new Apple updates?”, we’ve got you covered.
