I'm not sure how to look into this question. I create an inventory query that checks whether or not a student has installed a game on his/her iPad. There are seven results, but five of them do not tell me anything. See the attached screenshot. In the five that are useless, it shows the name of the game, but no device name or IP address. Regardless of the fields that I put in the query, nothing shows up.

How do I go about removing these results?

I have been wondering about this problem for a while too. Recently i was doing some Inventory queries on Mac's running 10.8.5 and in the beginning I would have a count of 3 objects, with one of them showing and 2 of them not... now those objects are gone but they are still 2 of them and the query doesn't show them...

Why does this keep happening is beyond me.

Hello ,

please have a look at the "Main Component" of those queries , listed at the top right corner as a dropdown box when you're editing the queries.
Chances are you're looking for a list of machines ; however, you're probably asking filewave inventory about a list of software , and adding any computers related to the information.
If you switch the "Main Component" to "Desktop Device" , you'll see the empty entries disappear, because you're now asking about Computers from the beginning, not a list of known Software. Does that make sense ?

Best Regards,
Chris

Hi,
is this a new option since FileWave 10? Maybe earlier, I have never seen it before.

For those cases, I build a workaround by adding a expression like:
"Desktop Device / device name" to "is not null"

Manu
