How do you delete a user created Safari link on Homepage? How do you stop them from creating more?

Sorry, FileWave MDM has no control over non-managed user generated items on an iOS device, such as this this user generated web clip.

The only way to block users from doing this is to set a Home Screen Layout in the left side of the profile editor. Note that your devices have to be supervised to be able to do this. Users would only see the items that you have added to the Home Screen Layout and nothing more.

I have set a Home Screen Layout and users have added Safari website links to the Homepage on the device itself. So you are saying eventhough it is a Supervised device, that the users can create as many web links on the Homepage as they want to? The only way I found to get rid of the link is Erase All content and Settings and have Filewave reconfigure the device.

Are you sure your devices are supervised? Apple has instructions on how to check this here - support.apple.com/en-us/HT202837 . If the device is supervised and the home screen layout is enforced correctly then users also cannot delete apps. Tap and hold your finger over an app in the home screen to see if the X shows up to allow them to delete the app. You shouldn't be able to delete an app. Check the reports for the home screen layout config profile for possible error messages.

Yes, they are all supervised. No "X" appears to delete. Users can add links to websites on the Homepage.

Hmm...maybe that's normal behavior then. I'll check around to verify. It may be Apple allows users to do this.

So it seems this is normal behavior. You could use “iOS Restrictions > Apps > Don’t Allow Some Apps” and type in “com.apple.webapp” to block all Web Clips. Just be sure that you're deploying the iOS IPA for the App Portal and not just using the default Web Clip for accessing the iOS Kiosk.
