so, Apple suggests clearing server commands from queue if having issues with IOS 9.2 and installations (see attached png of their bulletin). I'm wondering how this is relevant to FW?

1) Is this error state that these devices are in going to inhibit pushing the IOS update like it's affecting app pushes?
2) Is there a way to clear these commands for a specific device?
3) Is there a way to clear these commands for IOS devices as a batch?
4) Given that devices are getting multiple apps from Fileset groups and the way commands are sent in serial fashion, it seems to me that clearing commands for a device will only get them right back into the same bind on check-in. Is that correct?

Thanks for verifying these concerns...

Robert

Hi Robert,

We have a workaround that can be applied to FileWave 10.0.2 and 10.1. This workaround will prevent iOS 9.2 devices from being re-affected after clearing out the Command History queue. With the workaround in place, iOS 9.2 devices will be able to receive most commands (InstallProfile, ClearPasscode, etc.) from FileWave normally with the exclusion of the "ManagedApplicationList" command that holds up the other commands from being processed. Since the "ManagedApplicationList" command will not be sent automatically by FileWave to iOS 9.2 devices, you will have to use the App Portal to deploy applications to iOS 9.2 devices.

If you'd like this workaround patch to be applied to your server, please open a ticket with Support requesting the 9.2 workaround.

Thanks,
Avery (FileWave Support)

You can still use the FileWave Admin to deploy Apps as you have in the past. The only difference is any Apps deployed to an affected 9.2 device will only install the App (with our patch in place) if it is requested through the App Portal on the device. Once iOS 9.2.1 is released and installed, App deployment will resume as it was before the issues with iOS 9.2.

If you have any other questions or need the patch applied to your server, please create a Support Ticket.

Regards,
Derek
