Hi Lars,

In testing I've seen that FileWave will send to files out to filevault users, but only under certain conditions. Because of the way that filevault encrypts files, when the user is not logged into the OS their home directory is totally inaccessible.

What we have seen is that if the user is logged into the machine when client runs a verification or gets a new model from the server, only then will files be allowed to be placed into their home directory. This makes sense because when the user is logged in, that is the only time the system has the ability to make changes to their directory.

Thanks,

-Dave

thanks for this. i just tested it without filevault. when a account is created (machine bound to AD) the user folder named This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., when i set it up with admitmac. so it looks like only userfolders with the default names without @domain.com are touched with filewave. so it isnt a filevault/encryption issue. i will ask thursby, thanks,
