Looking for some clarification on the "Delete Files" option in the fileset properties. It offers to "delete the path below on Fileset activation". I'm unclear on when activation happens in regard to actual application installation on the client.
My scenario involves a fileset that is copying install files and folders to root when deployed (does not do this on the provisioning machine when creating the fileset, only when deploying). I think this is due to running the installer off of a remote location instead of locally, but was thinking of scripting a removal of these two install folders. It looks like this option may do that through the filewave agent instead?
If I specify this path, is the path deleted before or after the fileset is actually written to the target?
Explain Delete Files tab in Fileset properties?

The Delete Files tab will remove the file from the machine after it downloads all of the files from the Fileset and before it activates the files. So if the files that you are wanting to delete with this option are needed for the Fileset to install properly this can cause issues. It is not built as a clean up feature after an install for example.
If you have any more questions about this feel free to put in a ticket with FileWave support.
