The FWAppHistory fileset allows you to keep track of application installations and removals on Windows client computers. This is typically more of a concern in environments where end-users have admin access to their own Windows computers. The application to be tracked must register itself with Windows and appear in the Programs and Features application list for FWAppHistory to track it.
Once deployed to client PCs, FWAppHistory will run with every verification and log its results to a hidden CSV file on the client computer at %windir%\temp\AppHistory.log. You may have to alter Windows Explorer’s view settings to show hidden files to access this log.
Each entry consists of a date, action, and the name of the application that was either installed or removed. Below is a sample AppHistory.log.
