The generic Windows FileWave client installer normally prompts you for both the FileWave server address and to set the built-in client info fields Department, Building, Location, and Monitor ID. However, the customized client installer generated from the filewave.com website already has the FileWave server address embedded and does not allow you to populate these fields. This makes sense to a certain degree because the customized client was meant to be compatible with silent deployment, such as with AD GPO’s.
This Windows fileset lets once again make use of these built-in client info fields Department, Building, Location, and Monitor ID. It can be launched by invoking FWSetClientInfo at the Windows Run dialog or a CMD window. This updated info will be sent to the FileWave server at the next verification interval. It was meant to be accessed by a technician working locally on the client PC. The user must authenticate with a password to edit the fields.
