in our fleet of 2800 1-1 MacBook Airs we have parents that are wanting to set Parental Controls for things like date and time internet restrictions and not allowing certain websites they consider offensive that is outside of our provided filtering.

We have MacBook brought in and sign in as our local master Admin on MacBook and set the requested Parent Controls for Student user (All Students are standard users that are bound to AD using their district login) . However when the MacBook restarts those Parental Restrictions are no longer set for that Student account. It is like there is a policy somewhere that is resetting those. Anyone else run into this?

We ran into this problem 2 years ago when we started our 1 - 1. I think it has something to do with mobile AD accounts, I don't believe this happens if you create the accounts locally. We basically abandoned this approach and went for a more in-depth filter.

Thnaks for the response! We did end up finding from AppleCare support that Mac OSX Parental Controls are not able to be applied to mobile managed accounts(ours are since the are are Student AD accounts), only locally set up ones. However in the newest rev of FileWave (11.1.2) it does appear to have some Parental Control polices now that we can use. Have not looked into those in great detail yet.
