I've just upgraded to 11.0.2 and when the client package is pushed to the clients it seems to crash during install.
It asks permission to use the users current location (why?) and then it seems to crash regardless of the user response, causing it to try again and once again asking permission to use the current location - disrupting the user since the dialog grabs focus and forces the user to interact.

It would also seem that the Filewave-client might not be 100% compliant with Apples new security feature(??) of sandboxing, since all clients complains like this:

Aug 31 09:01:12 [hostname] sandboxd[83204] ([56828]): fwcld(56828) System Policy: deny file-write* /usr

Also it does not conform to Apples new energy saving policy:

com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.filewave.fwcld): This service is defined to be constantly running and is inherently inefficient.

Is there a support-channel available where I can officially report this?

Hello,

Do you recall if you were using the Upgrade Fileset to upgrade your existing Clients or the Client PKG/Custom Client PKG? We always recommend using the Upgrade Fileset to update your existing FileWave Clients. Using the Client PKG (included with all installers) or the Custom Client PKG to upgrade your existing Clients, can result in issues. This is why we provide the Upgrade Fileset with each release.

If you have not done so already, I recommend upgrading to FileWave 11.2.1. Please let us know if you are still having Client installation issues or the messages you had in the original post.

It would be best to move this into a Support ticket if you are still having issues. You can reach FileWave Support by logging into filewave.com, choosing Support at the top of the page, and selecting Ticket Manager. You can also email Support directly (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) using the email you have linked to your filewave.com account. This will automatically create a ticket for you. You can also call FileWave Support. Please click on the phone icon to the right of the website for the available phone numbers.

Regards,
Derek

Yeah, well, since it't 2 months since I asked the question, and had not posted a single followup, I have obviously solved it on my own. But thanks anyway.

I'm glad you were able to resolve it on your own. I apologize your original post went unanswered for so long. We try to allow the Forums to be driven by the community but a FileWave Staff member will respond if a post goes unanswered.

We are making changes and improvements so posts like yours receive a follow-up. Should you have an issue like this in the future, please contact FileWave Support directly.
