Have been using Lightning ver 1.0 for couple of months; however, after upgrading to 10.8.2 on a couple of our macbook pro's lightning will hang when attempting to deploy an image. If we use a mbp that is still running 10.8.1 we don't have an issue. When looking into console there isn't any error messages and to close out of lightning you must do a force quit.

Have you seen any issues using lightning on 10.8.2?

I am on 10.8.2 right now and just yesterday used lightning to image 50 USB drives.
Let me try with an OS and get back to you.

What OS were you creating an image for / imaging onto the target?
And just confirm its when you go to deploy not when making the image correct?

Hi Ben!

Since Mac OS X 10.8.2 there is a major issue which did´t exist in OS X 10.8.1 two weeks ago.

When I create a clean OS X 10.8.2 image (only the Base OS) with Filewave Lightning and deploy it to a target Mac everything seems fine.

But when I then check this Volume (mounted in target mode with Firewire or Thunderbold cable) using Disk Warrior 4.4 the rebuilt stage 8 and 9 is very very slow.

Do you have any idee what´s going wrong there, after hours it eventually complets.

Rebuilding a 10.8.2 disk which was deployed with the standard os x apple installer, results in usual Disk Warrior 4.4 operation speed.

I think a Lightning bugfix is needed to resolve this problem.

regards,
Bjoern

Ben,

Over the weekend I recreated just a base 10.8 OS imageset on my mbp running 10.8.2 and attempted to deploy to a macbook air and upon clicking Restore I see "Restoring image to volume Macintosh HD1..." with a gray restore button and cancel.

At this point Lightning software goes unresponsive.

In the office at work I used my co-workers 15-inch Early 2011 MBP 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 running 10.8.2 (12C54) to deploy using precreated image from 10.8.1 and he didn't have any issues. My current system is Retina, Mid 2012 MBP 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 running 10.8.2 (12C54).

It appears that the issue might be focused just on the new Retina system running 10.8.2, since another co-worker is running 10.8.1 on his Retina and is able to deploy without issues. We have 2 Retina's that are running 10.8.2 that have the same unresponsiveness when attempting to deploy.

Hopefully this information is helpful.

Thank you for the information.
After clicking restore, the restore button will be grayed out by default. Only if you uncheck "detect volumes continuously" and select a volume my hand.

Interesting what you say about the different MacBooks This gives me an excuse to buy a new MacBook with a retina display!
