Hello...

Is there anyway to get the iLife pkg file to install with Lighting? Every time I try the build fails. I have the pkg from the install DVD.

Thanks,
Alex

What Version of iLife are you attempting to use?

It was my understanding that it does not come on disc any more and is only an Apple App Store download.

Its the latest major version, just on DVD before they went to the App Store model. Apple still issues standalone updates for it so I figured it would be OK but the image creation always fails when I try to put it in there.

As an aside, I also try to install an M-Audio pkg file but it causes a failure as well. This one installs an item in System Preferences though so maybe that's not allowed?

It should be allowed.

I am unable to locate a DVD of iLife to test this method out with.
Would it be posable for you to take some screen shots of do a movie capture of your screen with QuickTime or something, and show us exactly what is happening?

That would help us a lot.

Which one of the m-audio pkgs are you attempting to install?

I'll work on getting more info on the iLife thing. The M Audio software is for the USB Fast Track Pro

with the iLife DVD in the drive, control click on the ilife package alias. Choose the option to show in finder. Drag the now showing iLife.pkg file to the packages section of the create dialog. you can also apply all the updates for iLife by mounting the downloads from apple and dragging the respective .pkg files in order (remember iPhoto needs all incremental updates ex: 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 etc... in order to update properly). Just be sure everything is mounted in your host OS while the image is being created and it will be smooth sailing!
