No communication breakdown

The Asset Trustee solution employs a scalable client/server setup to ensure that network loading is kept to a minimum. All operations are carried out transparently in the background, resulting in no interruptions to end users and therefore zero production loss. The intelligent agents installed on the client machines transfer their inventory information via TCP/IP. A central database stores the information in a readable format and makes it accessible through a user-friendly native interface or a web browser. Easy-to-use database query tools created with open-source technologies enable detailed examination and analysis of the inventory data.

Since communication is initiated by the agents, even itinerant devices like laptops are all-but guaranteed of delivering their data and keeping the database current. If a machine goes offline the scanned data is saved on the client computer and transferred the next time a network connection is available.
